Pre-order terms

These terms apply when you pre-order XPU Grasshopper (KU040) on zscc.ai. Zettascale is a DBA of Exa Laboratories, Inc. ("Zettascale", "we", "us"). By paying the deposit you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy, and you confirm you are at least 18.

The pre-order

The first run is a limited edition of 100 boards, numbered 1 to 100. The pre-order price is 20% below the list price. XPU Grasshopper (KU040) is a development kit for building on our architecture, and it is not meant for production serving.

Deposit and refunds

You pay a $960 deposit at checkout, about 10% of the pre-order price. The deposit is fully refundable until your board ships. To cancel, write to contact@zscc.ai from the email you ordered with, and we refund the deposit to your original payment method within 10 business days.

The balance

The rest of the price is due when your board is ready to ship. We email you before we take the balance, either charging the card you saved at checkout or sending you an invoice. Your board ships once the balance is paid. If it is not paid within 30 days of our email, we may cancel the order and refund the deposit.

Shipping

Boards are planned to ship February 1, 2027. Component supply, manufacturing, or other delays may move that date, and if they do, you hear from us first. If the date moves and you no longer want the board, you can cancel for a full refund of the deposit. We ship only within the United States, to the address you give at checkout. Tax and shipping are added to the balance.

Early cluster access

First-run pre-orders get batch #0 of early API and SSH access to the cluster. Access opens in batches, and dates come with the next launch. Early access is a preview and may change or be withdrawn.

Prices

Prices are in USD, before tax and shipping. If we cannot fulfill your pre-order for any reason, we refund everything you have paid.

Warranty

The board is a development kit built on a prototype architecture. Apart from any rights the law gives you that cannot be waived, it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. Defects present on arrival are covered by a replacement or refund if you tell us within 30 days of delivery.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything related to your pre-order is limited to the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes are heard in the state or federal courts in San Francisco County.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes do not affect pre-orders already placed, and the date at the top shows the latest version.
